Well, he doesn't try to conceal his comments nearly as much as he did 20 (or so, i'm guessint) years ago. I guess sports gambling is pretty much legal most places now. But back when it was only illegal bookies (unless you were in vegas at the moment), he would disguise his comments pretty cleverly.B-Tender wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 5:17 pmMaybe, or he's just aware that without gambling and fantasy football the NFL would be worth about 30% of what it currently is.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 3:46 pm You gotta love Al Michaels though. He always seems to throw out some indication of the spread. It cane be a game that is basically over. One team is way ahead of the other. Then the team that is behind, for some reason decides to kick a field goal in the last 10 seconds instead of a hail mary. Chris Collinsworth will say "I guess they think 3 points and then an onside kick is their best chance at this point". And Al Michaels will say, "I bet there are a lot of people in america very happy about this decision." Because the field goal will cover the spread for the losing team.
He will even make those kind of comments when it comes to the over/under. A last minute touch down that makes no difference at all in the game might put the score into the over rather than the under and he will subtly mention it. Collinsworth always tries to laugh it off and cover it up.
He does that shit all of the time. And you can't know those kind of facts unless you are gambling. There is no telling what kind of gambling he does.
