It took me weeks to get verified for a Kracken account. Tried to get in at .03. Here I sit at .24. Glad it’s only a few hundred bucks.

I have 5,000 shares. Total investment $200 at varying amounts. I should have sold it when my $200 got up to $3,800. My older son had 40,000 shares with some bought sub $0.01. He was in between jobs and had to sell some to make ends meet.

i'm not a CPA, but i think the answer is based on how long he owns the shares. If he owned them less than a year, then he pays based on his income tax rate, whatever that is. If he has owned them more than a year, then he pays based on capital gains tax rate, which fluxuates based on his income level (0%, 15% or 20%). They haven't raised that to 25% yet.
