WB5UDC here. Never really was much of an operator, I enjoyed the technical aspects a whole lot more. Liked building stuff, and thought SSTV and computer operated coding was just so nifty. Am a general too, but on/off study up for the Extra, maybe will take it at the next hamfest in Feb.DandyDon wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:04 pm I've been a ham since about 75 when I bought my first Heathkit SB-400, and I have my General class ticket now. My brother got me into it; he had nearly every ARRL award offered. I sometimes do Hamsphere nowadays, but the days of me climbing towers with a gin pole, ect are over. -.-. --.- KA4MFI here.

If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

For some reason, I ran this through the gibberish translator app and it came out lucid. Imagine my shock.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:37 pmWB5UDC here. I've been idle lately, but when I'm active you can find me around 14.070 operating PSK31, or on 50.125 simplex. Amateur Extra class. KC8KZYQillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:37 pmWB5UDC here. Re: Your career
I have a general license but I won't post my callsign here because I don't want WTC doing a lawn job in front of my house before I have time to load my rile.
Haven't used my license in years though -- it doesn't feel as special now that the FCC doesn't manage the exams anymore; but FWIW, I was happier doing CW with people in far away countries versus voice chatting about something close to nothing with locals on 2 meters. Maybe things have improved recently?
