Re: The Irishman
I have not watched it- fixing to. Unlike stuffy Spielberg insisting that streaming movies have theatrical releases in movie houses before they are eligible for awards, directors like Scorsese know they can thrive. Can put out 3-4 hour movies with no overview from the suits at the studios demanding trims to under 2 hours to satisfy studio audiences. At home, you can watch as long as you want, leave, and watch the rest later. The movie studio system is dead and they know it.

Re: The Irishman
B.S. with that figure, as usual. Would not be surprised to see the whole studio/ movie complexes 100 year relations break down completely with demands to show streaming movies/ series on their big screens with no inteference (sp). Hell of a run, 130 years of movies from Edison, through the radio surge of the 1920's, The real threat of TV's in the 50's-70's and finally die in the internet age.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 11:38 pmYeah, those poor studios only made $45 BILLION this year.

Meh, it's the Post. There's some truth there, but she was heavy handed with it. The story was interesting, the performances? Meh.FreakShowFanatic wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:06 am https://nypost.com/2019/12/03/go-ahead- ... -terrible/
Re: The Irishman
BS and global. The whole economic model is fixing to collapse. Interesting they survived in the 50's-70's when TV sales surged to 100%. Will not survive this internet streaming. A technology born the the 19th Century will be totally transformed in the next half-century.B-Tender wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:57 am https://deadline.com/2018/07/film-indus ... 202425692/

Re: The Irishman
Your figure is domestic revenue only. Please try to know what you're talking about.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:55 amI doesn't matter. Re: The Irishman
Yeah, those movies under tents in African villages at 10 cents a head sure add up. I was talking about studios producing movies, revenue at the theaters, etc. Your BS figure includes residual DVD sales, profit from distribution deals to global outlets for years/ decades to come. Like everything else in life, you literally don't know what you are talking about. At this point, we kind of expect it.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:31 amYour figure is domestic revenue only. My figure represents total worldwide box office revenue for one fiscal year.
You are wrong. Deal with it.
