Meals for busy professionals..
.. or anyone else who wants them.
My two oldest kids are on their own now, and they use these subscription services that provide a certain number of meals per week.
One uses HelloFresh, where you have to do some preparation, and the other uses a service where you just heat the food.
Have you tried this?
This got me thinking: oldtimers have retirement homes where they can get meals a couple of times a day, at varying levels of fanciness, depending on the home.
How about this: Apartment buildings where food in part of the plan. Maybe only 1 evening meal, maybe 2. Could be cafeteria style, or fancier. They have to have a window of several hours. Say 5:30 - 9:30. These would be apartments that cater to the young, single professional. Maybe choose from 4 different entrees.
Good idea? Yes.

I would think that you would use the college dorm as a business model for this type of concept. A lot of college dorms are no longer owned and operated by the university. They are privately owned and built adjacent to the campus so that it still feels like a dorm. Many of them include some type of cafeteria so that meals are provided.VinceBordenIII wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 5:39 pm .. or anyone else who wants them.

I know lots of kids who use them grocery services. I never would have guessed they'd catch on as they have.

You could extend the dorm idea to include the rooms. Some people don’t earn as much, or want as much. A dorm style accommodation could be fine for them.Flumper wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 5:46 pmI would think that you would use the college dorm as a business model for this type of concept. A friend from one of the Northern European countries told me some apartments don’t have showers? If I recall. They use communal facilities.

I may need to look into these. It'd make meal planning a bit easier. What does it cost?

Why are these meals only for busy professionals? Sounds kind of elitist to me.

Fine, blue collar Canucks can use them too, but I don't think they come with Tim Hortons or mac and cheese.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 4:07 pm Why are these meals only for busy professionals? Sounds kind of elitist to me.

When we ran kids camps in the summer I was right up there with Santa Claus as far as they were concerned.

That shit is a biohazard. You're taking off roughly the top 1/16". This is a layer where players have sweated, spit, threw up and bled on. People don't think about that.

LOL!! Yeah, because "busy professionals" are so tired from a hard physical day of sitting behind a desk pushing a pen around, that they can't work up the energy to get off their fat asses and make a meal for themselves.Biker wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 4:22 pmBecause busy professionals bring work home while lunch pail Joes do notReservoir Dog wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 4:07 pm Why are these meals only for busy professionals? My wife still has time to go to the gym and do at least half of the cooking. It all comes down to having a balance in life and take good care of yourself. That's what makes you the most successful. What she doesn't have time to do is drink alcohol or waste her time on this site.Biker wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 1:30 amNo, because their work day doesnt end at 5pm, as they continue to work when they get home.
