Yep, 35% of known cases have been fatal, fortunately it's just hard to catch without fucking a camel or working in close proximity to a patient, so it made less of a splash than SARS.
The number would be lower for an outbreak in the West because we have better healthcare and better government responses. Plus a lot more mild cases would be diagnosed for the didn't die column as anyone with a sniffle would be tested. Even so, if that one mutates to flu level infectiousness, there'll be a lot less traffic jams.
