Fuckin' hernia's
Just spent an hour in emergency because the pain is unbearable.
Emerg trip - $0
2 dilaudid there and 2 for the road, with a script for more - $0
Pain relief - Priceless.
At least maybe I'll get more than an hour of sleep tonight.

Sorry to hear that you're in pain dawg. I'm glad that your healthcare is a whole lot cheaper as compared to that in the US. Hopefully you got what you need to deal with the pain.

I've been on a surgical waiting list since Dec 17. We still have a lot of hurry up and wait in that department. But when it happens I won't be getting a bill.

Re: Fuckin' hernia's
so, hang on a second. you have had a hernia since December and on a waiting list to get it fixed? Over a month? And you were in so much pain you had to go to the emergency room to only get pain pills so your wait wouldn't be as bad? Please make sure I am understanding this right.megman wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 4:38 amWe do pretty good.FreakShowFanatic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 4:32 amSorry to hear that you're in pain dawg. I've been on a surgical waiting list since Dec 17. We still have a lot of hurry up and wait in that department. But when it happens I won't be getting a bill.

I'm not sure you'd get a surgical appointment any faster in the U.S., unless it was strangulated and life-threatening.Flumper wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:26 pmso, hang on a second. you have had a hernia since December and on a waiting list to get it fixed? I had one for years, it finally incarcerated (went to the hospital, they gave me a muscle relaxant and elevated my feet). That's how I knew I had it (High School athletic doctor missed it for several years=he wasn't very competent imo).
Had the surgery appointment several months later. It's considered "elective surgery" for insurance purposes i.e. you have to involve your insurance company beforehand.

No, my hernia was confirmed back in Aug. I didn't get to see the surgeon until Dec.Flumper wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:26 pmso, hang on a second. you have had a hernia since December and on a waiting list to get it fixed? Over a month? And ya, unless it's strangulated it's not an emergency. It's just suffer and wait your turn.

Re: Fuckin' hernia's
Correct. And that's what they did at the hospital. Elevated the foot of the bed and gave me better pain meds than what I was taking because they were not cutting it.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:38 pmI'm not sure you'd get a surgical appointment any faster in the U.S., unless it was strangulated and life-threatening.Flumper wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:26 pmso, hang on a second. you have had a hernia since December and on a waiting list to get it fixed? Re: Fuckin' hernia's
they are normally immediate problem especially if a blood vessel is pinched. All MRI centers I know have results in 24 hrs,no business here would survive giving a reading weeks later----but I guess you get what you pay for.

You best be thanking Tommy Douglas for not being flat broke now. Or at least send Kiefer Sutherland a dick pic or something, as a thank you.

Yeah, what you get is non emergency cases eventually getting dealt with, everyone getting taken care of, and no one declaring bankruptcy. But hey, profits are more important in your healthcare system, so there's that.fouts wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 7:40 pmthey are normally immediate problem especially if a blood vessel is pinched. Re: Fuckin' hernia's
no one is putting it down. its just very different from our culture. Its like hearing that some jungle tribe drinks turtle urine for a stomach ache. I'm not saying it doesn't work, its just now how we do it.
