While watching the Superbowl recently at my neighbor's house the bug zapper on his deck was constantly buzzing throughout the game. Not definitive, but a sure sign spring cannot be far away.

There is always a big party opening day of trout, the kids are always in the field hitting pop ups

I remember lakes being packed for opening day, I can't quite remember whether baseball started in April or May.

The other obvious and missed sign of an impending Spring is a WTC thread about it.

I guess you haven't, sounds like Trump has failed to keep another promise if the southern border is still wide open three years after his electionBiker wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:40 pmWhen did I ever claim it was locked down?CaptQuint wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:37 pmI thought Trump leaned on Mexico hard and shut that shit down? yep, the mesquites budding out is the last sign. I would say the first sign would be the Bradford Pears budding. Those fucking trees wake up way too quick, but somehow survive. There is always at least one or two more freezes left after the are covered in new buds. I notice them because every subdivision has them planted since they grow so quickly. They are terrible trees though.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:46 pmBut that's the last sign. I meant the earliest sign. Around here, it's when you look up and see hundreds of buzzards in the sky circling after their migration from Mexico.

Do you have any bamboo where you're at? That is the fastest growing plant in the world to my knowledge. I used it when I lived on 1/3 of an acre in Wayne NJ where the houses were close together. It made an awesome hedge that I surrounded my whole backyard in like a horse shoe. But you really had to maintain it to keep it from spreading where you didn't want it. People were amazed by it and how private it made my backyard. I sold that house in a week several years ago so apparently it was a plus, but a lot of people would bitch about how invasive it is.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 5:34 pmyep, the mesquites budding out is the last sign. funny, i have heard horror stories about bamboo and how it spreads. My cousin is in the flooring industry and he said that you have to be careful of real bamboo flooring. Because, it never stops growing. Sounds like bs to me, but he said that after a few years you can get buckling from the tension building up.FreakShowFanatic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 9:59 pm Do you have any bamboo where you're at? Yeah, you definitely have to control it. I had a paver driveway there that I put in but the boo ripped right through my neighbor's asphalt driveway. Fortunately the dude loved the privacy from the bamboo too but he needed to get his driveway redone.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 10:18 pmfunny, i have heard horror stories about bamboo and how it spreads.
