I read a quote from a doctor somewhere, we won't really know if we overreacted but we will know if we under reacted.
not really. because we only know what we read and you will be able to read everything from glorious reviews of how we reacted to the darkest of gloom reviews. we are already doing that.

I STILL do not understand the "testing" bullshit that seems to consume every single news story. Does a person right now that has "maybe a cold" think that they need a test report to confirm that they should treat themselves as though they have the bubonic plague? I don't have a single symptom, yet I behave as though I have some deadly contagion, because that just seems like the thing to do.

Exactly. I've had normal cold symptoms for 5 days but I'm assuming and behaving like I'm carrying Covid.

it is actually comforting to hear an actual person that is going through this. I hope everything continues to go as good as it is and I look forward to updates. For scientific purposes.

I think the math speaks for itself, no? 70k next week is the projection in a nation of 325 million

Edit: Calculation is 0.021538461538462%

Does anyone still think we are not overreacting?

That makes a shitty headline. Can we go back to bigger test numbers for that, please? thanks.

It is the way to go now, of course.

The numbers on how many affected are difficult, and probably will remain so for a long time.

I think the numbers cited here are too low on infection rates, and the actually fatality rates consequently are lower than calculated too. Too few have been tested to find out how many have it and have shown few signs. I'm thinking it's a large number.

Fine, lets make the multiplier 10x. That still brings a number of 0.2% infected with a death rate much, much lower

Does any of the measures we've taken warrant the actual numbers?

No.

Worse, this feels like a dry run to me.

Like in a few years this will happen again, but instead of just the three liberal bastions going in full police state mode -> the entire Country will.

This. I have seen this type of transportation of Military vehicles before on the same railroad and others in Socal numerous times over the years. Looks like they are moving them through Downtown SD and are almost to the airport.

DOJ seeks new emergency powers amid coronavirus pandemic

One of the requests to Congress would allow the department to petition a judge to indefinitely detain someone during an emergency.

The Justice Department has quietly asked Congress for the ability to ask chief judges to detain people indefinitely without trial during emergencies — part of a push for new powers that comes as the coronavirus spreads through the United States.

Documents reviewed by POLITICO detail the department’s requests to lawmakers on a host of topics, including the statute of limitations, asylum and the way court hearings are conducted. POLITICO also reviewed and previously reported on documents seeking the authority to extend deadlines on merger reviews and prosecutions..........

Glad to hear from you, what are you doing to help manage the symptoms?
She has the meds they gave her. I keep her drinking fluids (whether she wants to or not). I have a fan and a humidifier running in her room. Cool moist cloths on her forehead and wrists. There's really only so much I can do.
How is the Covid-19 sex?
Feverish.

With all your scientific knowledge studying that virus everyone should listen to you, and your president from 2 weeks ago. You guys know more about that fake virus than just aboot anyone. It's all overblown bullshit right? You guys need to convince all your friends and family to go aboot their days as normal. It's a conspiracy, don't believe these so called scientists. All the people dying in Italy are fake news. Do the people of Italy a favour, get on a plane and travel there. Support their tourism industry. Tell your friends and family to do the same. You guys know more than everyone.

Venice is the place to be right now. Imagine having the chapels and museums to yourself. Having the canals not smell like raw sewage. Not having to listen to loudmouths destroying the inherent peace of a city without cars and trucks. Getting there and getting home would be the trick.
