Re: Mars Rover landing 3:55pm Eastern
4 days.
This thread started on the 18th, i posted the landing video on the 22nd.
In 4 days earth was visible to it 8 times and the overhead surveyor probably 16. So maybe 24 hours of total download time from mars?

The rover still has to finish shitting it out and drive away, then a day or two for tests, so it may actually fly over the weekend, so maybe video Wednesday or Thursday?

Flumper's proposal to Nasa.
To Whom it may concern at Nasa:
It has come to my attention that there is about a 4 or 6 day delay in getting video back from the surface of Mars so that our fans here in earth can enjoy it. And since this project depends on the support of the people, it is in your best interest to do everything possible to make this experience as enjoyable to the viewers as possible. Considering these facts, I suggest that you stop all updates to the public for 6 days. During that time you begin to compile video, audio, whatever you think they will most enjoy. And then, instead of telling them something is going to happen and making them wait, you just spring the video on them as though its just now happening. They won't know the difference, and in the grand scheme of looking at stuff on Mars, what difference does 6 days make?
So, after this 6 day delay, we will be watching daily live-ish videos from Mars.
I hope this helps.

Rover helio shit maneuver almost complete

The Mars helicopter Ingenuity is preparing for a historic take-off as NASA attempts the first powered, guided flight on another world.
That flight could occur as soon as April 8.

So maybe video of the crash by the time zombie Jesus rises?

Sound on Mars Has a 'Unique' And Extremely Trippy Property, Recordings Reveal
Eerie audio recordings captured on Mars have revealed, for the first time, that there are two speeds of sound on the red planet, among other trippy insights about how acoustic waves travel on an alien world.
NASA’s Perseverance rover, which landed on Mars in February 2021, is the first mission ever to capture recordings of the Martian soundscape. Though some of Perseverance’s tracks have already dropped, scientists led by Sylvestre Maurice, an astrophysicist at the University of Toulouse, now “present the first characterization of Mars’ acoustic environment and pressure fluctuations in the audible range,” featuring “pressure variations down to 1,000 times smaller scales than ever observed before,” according to a study published on Friday in Nature.
