Pleasantly surreal

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

Pleasantly surreal

I've had a couple moments over the years where time really didn't seem to matter at all, where I could have been in either modern times or 80 years ago. I had that again today. I was out in the shop when some Glen Miller came on. Standing there in my dimly lit 100 year old barn, just the music, my anvil, and the age old hand tools of the craft made for a strangely pleasant connection with the past. It's usually big band music that triggers this for me. While I was deployed to the Bahamas we lived out of GP tents and had the same sensation.
Anyone else had a moment that was surreal or, I guess for me, timeless?

If you live in the moment that feeling hits you a lot more often. It’s not easy.

When it's happens with me it has always been with music. Especially big band, something about the sound, the horn sections and vocalists, mellow and relaxing but from a very hard and tense time.

Fuck man, it's Who. l was in a very good mood this evening but then Who reminded me that he still exists by making his recent post. Die, Die, Die Who. Just end it, I don't even care how you do it. Maybe save us taxpayers some money where you don't need any social services to be involved. Try jumping in a pond by that golf course you work out & slather some peanut butter on yourself. Go by where the biggest gators hangout & film it so we can all see you get shredded into tiny pieces. Hopefully you're not like the Terminator's rival & won't reassemble and morph back into existence. OK, you have your assignment now; -- ENJOY!

Please move this to a different thread. I wanted this to be pleasant or at least entertaining.
