Yeah I know-1947. Maybe the photos are post 1947. Has to be an answer why the different planes in that formation have different decals.

KInda, but not really. They can pass and Truman can sign but creating a new military branch is going to take some time. I'm guessing with LeMay in the wings, it probably went pretty quick.

Sure he was. Defeated Japan almost single handed in 6 months. Protected us against Soviet nuclear annihilation for 20 years. Stop watching your left wing nut crap- Dr Strangelove.

You’re missing the answer and creating your own reality. In the picture there are several planes with different markings. Both of those markings were used by the Army Air Corps.

i heard about an old man that has a new book out. I can't remember the name "Beer run" or something. Anyway, back during the Viet Nam war, he was bullshitting with a bar tender about the shit heads protesting the war. And one said, "We should take some beer over there to those guys in the war". So the old man decided that he would. He had several buddies in Nam. So he loads up on a boat, gets a couple cases of beer. And gets a trip to Viet Nam. He finds each of them and gives them beer to drink. And its in the middle of the war. Like the Tet Offensive type shit. He has no place to stay. He's just wandering around asking where these guys are. Its a hell of a story.
