A bill passed unanimously in the legislature which will provide Battleship Texas $35 million for repairs before it is taken to its new home. The measure mentioned the upper Texas coast as the general region for the new home, but no specific site has been chosen, Bramlett said.
The are going to move up the coast of Texas from Houston to find more people? wtf? Port Arthur? That has to be a misprint.
I've been reading up more about the move, and the suggestion is to Galveston somewhere, which has become something of a tourist mecca. And not the practically dead ghost town of my childhood. It's probably a good move, but it's been there so long, it's kind of a shame. I used to skiff around there as a kid, saw it plenty but never actually got on it. Would be nice to move it away from the sewer that's Buffalo Bayou and the Houston Ship Channel.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

My grandmother had 5 stars in her window. I think most were navy. One made a career out of it, retired a master mechanic. Old school navy tattoos on his Popeye arms. The bleedy kind.

Galveston was a tourist mecca before the "Free State of Galveston" ended in the 50's. Guess it's finally recovering.

Some you'd have to go WAY back in history to find the origin.

Young woman, maybe a 5-6/10 anywhere else, is an 8-9 on a military base. Guys hitting on them 24/7. Divorced or cheating girlfriend wants her to go to the e-club while the men are deployed... misery loves company.
They're to young to be married, tbh. I can see that now.

Carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth during the 75th D-Day. A little more than half the displacement of our fleet carriers.

That's apparently the MV Boudicca, chartered by the Royal British Legion, 250 WWII veterans aboard
