None of those states are relevant right now. North Carolina would be the closest to being relevant.

Re: 2020 Candidates
If any of those states have relevant primaries except maybe North Carolina - things are getting very heated and money is going to be burned very quickly by the candidates.

Ours isn't for awhile yet and we're already starting to see some political ads. One good thing to come out of the 2016 debacle is that I bet neither party takes the Midwest for granted again. Both parties will be kissing our asses soon enough.beagleboy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 2:49 pmIf any of those states have relevant primaries except maybe North Carolina - things are getting very heated and money is going to be burned very quickly by the candidates.

Re: 2020 Candidates
Polling data at this point is worthless except in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. After those, votes will shift very quickly into a two (maybe 3) person race and people aren't going to throw their vote away on someone coming in 4th in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Warren received another easy question over the weekend by Amy Goodman of all people and went off the talking point rails again. How on earth is she going to be able to handle receiving difficult questions daily if the easy ones stump her so badly? When it is Sanders or Warren, there is no question who is better at answering tough questions. Sanders can turn any question into an attack that energizes his base.

Re: 2020 Candidates
Don Blankenship, a former coal baron and ex-convict whom President Donald Trump once spoke out against for being too extreme, said on Monday that he planned to run for president as a third-party candidate. The news, while bizarre, doesn’t mean much in terms of the real campaign politics, given that he stands pretty much no chance of making any real ripples. But it does give us the opportunity to revisit Blankenship’s past electoral failure.
Blankenship, who spent a year in prison in connection with 29 coal miners’ deaths, ran for a Senate seat in West Virginia in 2018. His campaign was rooted in anger (mostly related to his own past incarceration) and xenophobia. He called Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who was born in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. as a child, a “China person,” and he blasted out an ad claiming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is married to Chao, had been bribed by his “China family” into creating jobs for “China people” instead of Americans. When pressed about the ad, Blankenship rejected criticism by saying he could not have been racist by just mentioning Chinese people: “Races are Negro, white Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian. There’s no mention of a race.” His poll numbers began to surge, and he pulled to the front of the pack. Despite Blankenship calling himself “Trumpier than Trump,” the president exhorted followers to vote against Blankenship, reminding them of Roy Moore’s loss in the Alabama special election.

Sometimes things can just come down to likeability and I have to say every time I've seen her speak or on TV I just couldn't warm up to her.
