Moderna or Pfizer?
No clue till I arrive. PA just got a shitload of J&J. One shot would be convenient
Yes, it would. I haven't talked to anyone yet that got J&J. I had moderna and it was nothing. no side effects at all. A good friend got Pfizer and he said he didn't have any either. It really seems like the flood gates are starting to open for everyone getting appointments.
My Mother got Pfizer with no ill effects, Brother got Moderna and he said it was terrible. But he's a bit of a sissy.
I honestly think that a person's side effects from any of the vaccines is a reflection of how bad the virus would have been if they had caught it. The ones that had little to no reaction to the shots probably would have not had much problem with the virus. The ones that are sick in bed for a few days with high fever probably would have been in the ICU.
Kinda goes against what I just read, that those over 65 suffer few or no ill effects. I don't remember what vaccine that was but it was on the CDC website

Looking at allocation from PA DOH 99% sure I'll get Moderna.

Well, it doesn't really matter which one. The % numbers we hear in the news don't mean much. The real news is that all 3 of the vaccines are 100% effective at keeping you from dying or going to the hospital "if" you ever catch it. Somehow that part isn't fun to report.

Animal wrote: Tue Jan 19, 2021 2:43 pm Other than the unbelievably bad press the vaccine program is getting, things seem to be doing really well.

Total vaccines given so far are about 15 million.

In the past week, the average shots per day has been nearly 800,000 per day. So, Biden's "bold plan" to get 100 million in 100 days seems on track to be what would happen anyway.
WATCH: Joe Biden snaps at reporter for questioning vaccine plan

President Joe Biden signed multitudes of executive orders from the Oval Office on Thursday, where he was asked by a reporter if the goal 1 million vaccines given a day in the US was too low.

The White House pool reporter asked "Is that high enough? Shouldn't you set the goal higher? That's basically where the US is right now."

"When I announced it, you all said it's not possible—come on, gimme a break, man! It's a good start
," Biden said, intoning his 1960's era catchphrase.

Media was agog on Thursday morning with announcements that the Biden administration was forced to start "from scratch" with a vaccine rollout plan, but it turns out that the Trump administration's vaccine rollout plan was delivering nearly 1 million doses per day anyway.

Actually 1.6 million vaccines the day Joe was sworn in. So much for the big bold goal.

one of my partners got his first shot today in one of the Tarrant Co. mega sites. He said it was un-fucking-believable how many people they were pushing through there. He said it took him about an hour from start to finish. It was in a room the size of a convention center ballroom. They had dozens and dozens of tables and at each table were 4 stations where they had a people giving shots. You got in line for each station and when one of the 4 injector people was free you sat down. He said it was like pushing cows through a sale barn.

yeah, i'm noticing that, too. our numbers are way down from a lot of the northern states. but so are a lot of the southern states. i'm not sure why they wouldn't be getting the same kind of supplies as the rest of the country. i know every place that gets vaccine uses every drop they get every single day.

actually he just sucks at even thinking through the consideration it takes to set an actual goal. everyone laughed at him when he set that goal and we are laughing now. obviously he inherited a system that was operating over 2x as good as his wildest expectations.

Yep, he achieved the numbers on the back of the Trump plan. He was given a solid foundation, and granted, he improved upon it
