Not fucking likely. And it's likely to get worse this winter, just as flu season gets underway.

We're going to be in a health mess until (and if) we get an effective vaccine, and enough people are vaccinated. My guess it that won't be until the middle of next year, at best.

Whoever is President next year will have a major problem cleaning this up, and not just health wise. The continuing effects on the economy aren't going to be fixed soon.

And all the debt we're taking on to keep thing's going is gonna drag on growth. It might actually be better not to win this election.
No shit. All this cheap money has to go somewhere. And we can’t make it on cd’s and 1.5%. Who’s gonna be the next reserve currency. Will the US start another war with the nation that steps out of line and tells the Fed to pound sand.

That may have been the real issue with Saddam. He wanted to trade his oil for something besides greenbacks.

I read up on T cells. Many of us, perhaps 60%, have them that simply steamroll COVID, drama free. All the weak in Nueva Yorke may have been weeded out. It may just have to play out.

Not much on this Darwin stuff regarding lives. Yeah, eventually the folks that survived would be the ones that were genetically gifted with whatever it takes to turn the bug into a minor nuisance, but I'm not willing to live with a billion or so deaths without trying damn hard to prevent it.

P.S. Oh, and if you haven't noticed, this bug isn't affecting mainly people in NY anymore. I guess you figure we need a whole lot of people "weeded out" other places in the U.S. too? Pretty cold outlook on life I'm thinking. "Hurry up and die, granny, and mom and dad too!"

It dovetails nicely with the "I have no responsibility" line
It's kinda disturbing that someone is running for president and pretty much saying "I'm not responsible, vote for me!!!"
Like telling a voter "I don't work for you."

So lock up Gramps if you care about him so much. Maybe the new norm is imprisoning all the old people so they live to die in captivity. Folks are killing themselves. Lifelong dreams shot to hell because of fear. 5 restaurants in a town close to me are shut down for good. Completely bankrupt. In a county that has never seen numbers approaching anything our system couldn’t handle.

and all because of something we could have very easily worked our way through without closing anything (but bars) if everyone had just kept their heads. Obviously we couldn't have cured it, but we could have kept from bankrupting so many people.

all done because a bunch of people couldn't stand the thought of losing another election.

So Miss Nancy has turned it up a notch. I find it odd how Trump is the cause of all ills after 3.5 years in public service, yet the lifers shoulder none of the blame.

Maybe I'm being dumb, but that math doesn't seem right. .02% of 300 million is 60K.

99.8% would be 0.2% not 0.02%.

but, the math at 330 million would still make it 660,000 (I think). I don't have a calculator.

0.2% so 600k, but that math doesn't account for the long term damage to the health of survivors and is clearly low since you've reached a quarter of the deaths with nowhere near a quarter of the population infected, outside of New York.
