In the coming days, the Justice Department will make an important decision: whether to file criminal charges against one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies for allegedly colluding with rivals to inflate the prices of widely used drugs.

There is a revolving door between big business (especially big pharma) and the US government which is supposed to provide oversight.

Pandemic or not, there is a good chance the Justice Department wouldn't file charges, and if they did they would just impose a fine that was just a small portion of the revenue the company got for unethical price gouging. (As they have done time and time again).

Remember that asshat Shkreli who raised the price of insulin some 5000%; he didn't get in trouble for price gouging, he got in trouble for securities fraud.

How anyone can trust in the Medical Industrial Complex is beyond me.

Not really a problem in most other countries. We just didn't ban our biggest provider (us) from negotiating best prices.
