Yes
The Food and Drug Administration has final say on what the composition of the flu vaccine will be, and then it's made by private manufacturers during the spring and summer — generally ready for U.S. consumers by September.

I wasn't sure, how are you so sure?
I was at CVS last week and they were already advertising flu shots on demand. This may be the first year I get one

So the CDC telling states to be ready to distribute a vaccine by November 1st is rather silly

The success rate for a vaccine in phase 3 trials is about 40%. Reasonable odds one of the two will make it but far from certain, if it's out at all by then it's not going to be ready in a couple of hundred million doses, it'll go to frontline medical workers and the more vulnerable first. Does anyone seriously believe the announcement for november 1st is a coinkydink? It's blatant election bullshit.

Someone clearly did not confirm with Stapes
CDC asking states to be ready to distribute COVID-19 vaccine as early as October

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has asked state officials to be ready to distribute a potential coronavirus vaccine as soon as October.

According to documents obtained by The New York Times, the CDC has also given states scenarios to help them prepare. The scenarios included prioritization for health care professionals and essential workers in the event the vaccine supply is limited.

Last week, CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield sent states a letter asking them to waive requirements that might prohibit quick vaccine distribution, according to CNN. The CDC has asked that any restrictions be adjusted by November 1.

“Right now I will say we’re preparing earnestly for what I anticipate will be reality … that there’ll be one or more vaccines available for us in November, December — and we have to figure out how to make sure they’re distributed in a fair and equitable way across the country,” Redfield said while speaking to Yahoo Finance.

Companies preparing vaccines are also working on increasing distribution in the event their product is approved.

Three vaccines are currently in Phase 3 trials in the United States. U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn has said it’s possible the FDA would authoritize an experimental vaccine before large Phase 3 trials have been completed.

Robert Redfield is getting his balls roasted every day by trump and his handlers to pull some magic out of his ass to save trump's election. They don't care if it's ready, they don't care if it works, they don't even care if he can deliver. So he throws up a little Smoke Screen to give trumpy something he can lie about. It will be the last you hear of a vaccine ready by November. After Nov. 3 it won't matter either way as far as Redfield and trump is concerned. Even if trump wins he couldn't care less if you get that vaccine in November or 2024.

Which vaccine, as there are several candidates. Do you have the success rate for each one?

To save you 10 pages of stupidity and you hearing "what words mean" and "how he has to educate you". I think what AH is trying to say is that in order for ANY vaccine to be admitted to Ph 3 trials, it has to have had AT LEAST a 40% success rate in the trials leading up to that. Otherwise it wouldn't be allowed into Ph 3.

Either you aren't quite grasping what I've said, or you are being dumber than usual. Vaccines for human use go through phase 3 trials, 40% of vaccines that get that far do not pass phase 3 trials. Whether they are in the 40% of tested vaccines approved for use, or the 60% not approved for use, is something that is determined by the trial. Kinda what it is for.

Which part aren't you getting?

No, not what I said. In order for a vaccine to be admitted to phase 3 trials it has to pass phase 2 trials. Sometimes I forget how stupid and ill informed y'all are. This really isn't complicated.

Our chief doctor appointed to the virus team by governor MILF-mer proudly announced how great we're doing and how we're meeting all the guidelines. The governor however still says it's not good enough. Casinos are ok to open but gyms remain closed and small businesses are still required to generally run under capacity. It's abundantly clear that this is no longer about "flattening the curve". We flattened the shit out of it weeks ago and hospitals are laying people off. This virus is 100% political now. She's gonna lose this state for Biden by trying to hurt Trump. Even her supporters barely try to defend her anymore.

Not one lawsuit has proven that correct. Governors have lots of power in most states, even more during a public health crisis.

I'm not talking about legal authority. There is a perception problem with blue state governors and their excess use of power. This will play out once the college football season starts and if it goes like I think it will (well), the optics of red states playing football while blue states are holding their collective dicks in their hand, its going to be awful for Biden
