Didn't congress explicitly combine the two for submission to the President for signature? Other than the traditional piggy items, there apparently were reasons for doing so.

The stimulus bill is attached to the general funding bill, maybe you and he don’t know that. In the general funding bill are the foreign aid payments that he is objecting to, the ones that were in his proposed budget.

Do you agree with foreign entities getting billions while many small businesses and regular Americans are struggling?

Trump is benefiting somehow by giving Gov $$$ to other countries. Kickbacks? Loan forgiveness?

Giving $$ to you throgs gets him nothing. You are already blindly all-in.

When will you Trumpers realize that he doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit himself some way?

Surprised that a government run endeavor isn't running as smoothly as everyone hoped? Nah, not really.

That said, why do you still feel the need to shit on absolutely anything remotely positive? You do realize that even one million people getting vaccinated in this short of a virus time frame is basically unprecedented, right? Fuck dude; You're the guy who would hit the lotto for 50 million and then bitch that it wasn't 75.

Surprised that a trump administration staffed with incompetent sycophants can't respond effectively to a national emergency? Surprised that even when the truth would serve them better they can't help but lie about everything that has to do with how they are responding to this pandemic? Surprised that you don't get just a little bit angry that they have been pissing on your shoes for the past year and telling you its raining? No, I'm not surprised.
I blame Biker.

Imagine how far things would be along if the Trump administration hadn’t ignored and downplayed the entire thing. It is refreshing to see that you have left the denier camp though.

I've never denied anything and the speed of vaccine development would have been exactly the same: unprecedentedly fast.

Rules for thy, but not for me
Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo criticized for flouting lockdown rules

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo has been slammed for not heeding her own warning about staying home during the state’s coronavirus lockdown – after she was spotted dining out with her husband, according to a report.

The Democratic governor was photographed at Barnaby’s Public House in Providence on Dec. 18 for a wine and paint event after instructing residents to obey a “pause” on social gatherings, the Washington Examiner reported.

“It’s week two of our pause,” Raimondo tweeted on Dec. 7. “I know it’s been hard, but I want to thank every Rhode Islander who’s following our guidance.

“Please, stay home except for essential activities & wear a mask anytime you’re with people you don’t live with. Together, we can turn our case numbers around,” she added.

Raimondo’s office did not immediately respond to the outlet’s request for comment but told ABC6 that she followed guidelines during the outing.

“The governor had dinner at a local restaurant with her husband, and had her mask on anytime she was not eating/drinking,” rep Josh Block told the station.

The day after Raimondo was seen eating out, Rhode Island’s Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the governor and other officials to go into quarantine, the Washington Examiner reported.

While some people expressed support for Raimondo when asked about her outing, several also assailed her, including one woman who said, “Shame on you, Gina,” according to the outlet.

“Great job Governor! You can go out and have wine at a bar but your residents should stay home? Hypocritical and entitled,” one Twitter user said.

“You should go hang out with Governor (Gavin) Newsome. Stop killing small businesses in my former home state,” she added, referring to the California governor.

They are among several Democratic pols who have come under fire for violating their own recommendations and restrictions.

Others include Gov. Andrew Cuomo, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, according to the Examiner.

Well thats nice, eh?
Fauci admits to LYING about herd immunity numbers to encourage vaccinations

This is not the first time that Fauci has admitted to deceiving the public for utilitarian purposes in regard to coronavirus.

Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted in an interview with The New York Times that he played around with the number of vaccinations required for herd immunity in order to subtly encourage Americans to get vaccinated.

"When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent. Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85."

Epidemiologists at the beginning of the pandemic had asserted that somewhere between 60 and 70 percent of Americans would need to receive the coronavirus vaccine in order for herd immunity to be established, figures which are still touted by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Fauci repeated such figures throughout the pandemic, but about a month ago he started to provide different, higher figures in interviews. In an interview given last month, Fauci suggested that up to 75 percent of Americans would need to be vaccinated in order to establish herd immunity. Just last week, Fauci said in an interview with CNBC that the rate of vaccination may need to be as high as 85 percent or greater.

Now Fauci is suggesting that up to 90 percent of the population requires vaccinations.

"We need to have some humility here," Fauci said. "We really don’t know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90 percent. But, I’m not going to say 90 percent."

This is not the first time that Fauci has admitted to deceiving the public for utilitarian purposes in regard to coronavirus. In the early months of the pandemic, Fauci claimed that there is no reason to wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus as they probably would not work. He later admitted that masks are helpful for preventing the spread of the virus, and claimed that he said otherwise to prevent the public from stocking up on personal protective equipment when hospitals were in short supply of them.

Changing the declared herd immunity requirements were not entirely deceptive, however. The coronavirus spreading around the globe is novel, meaning it has never been seen in humans before, and scientific data regarding issues such as herd immunity was practically absent in the early months of the pandemic. In addition, the virus has mutated to become more contagious over time, with the new strain discovered in the UK in the past week being the most infectious yet.

Regardless, the main reason for playing around with the numbers appears to be that it would be discouraging to offer such a high vaccination rate to Americans when such numbers appear to be out of reach.

"We need to have some humility here," Fauci said. "We really don’t know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90 percent. But, I’m not going to say 90 percent."
