Mets to acquire Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco
Traded Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez and prospects Josh Wolf and Isaiah Greene for them.

Decent trade for Mets if they resign Lindor, which would obviously be the plan since they are giving up there two of their best young infielders and we keep hearing about how much money Cohen is going to spend.

Cleveland got pretty good return for someone that turned down a $200 million contract to stay an Indian. Although Carrasco is no joke either. So they really are giving away two really good MLB pieces.

Biker and FS should like this trade.

Sounds like they're going to try to not go over the cap and into luxury tax, though apparently they're willing for the right player(s). And yeah, this'll be a fail if they don't sign Lindor to a long-term contract.

I think their starting pitching is still iffy. And they pretty much have to make a run before DeGrom gets too old.

They've got a lot to fix in their organization. For one, their minors are pathetic.

Padres showed that spending more money in the minors translates 3-4 years later on your MLB roster. Either by development or trades for MLBers.

I think some of the international signing rules have changed since their big spree but they also added lots of infrastructure (training facilities and additional scouting) in other countries to try and beef up system that way too.

Not sure how the Mets are doing on that front (maybe they were already ahead of the Padres) but their minors were ranked in the 20th range last year (Pads might have been dead last before they started addressing the problem). Mets just traded two of their top 10 prospects and another player who was their #1 last year. So they might have dropped since they didn't get any prospects back.

Carrasco addresses some of your pitching injuries. He is a solid starter and under control for 2 more years. Looks like they might be trying to put together a team to try and compete in next couple seasons if they are going to give Lindor $200+ mil..

The Mets pitchers seemed to like the Carrasco part of the trade. I also think they've got a hole in the outfield, we'll see if they can land Springer. That may be the player they're willing to go over the cap for.

P.S. They may also have a hole at third. Kris Bryant? Though if they get Springer, they may have to live with Davis there (kinda negates Lindor though, 'cause so far, Davis has sucked at third). McNeil is now set at second.

We're glad to get rid of the Wilponzis.

Now we have a new owner that gives a fuck, and hires pros to run his operation.

What's not to like about that? :D

Even though Biker's feed would have been his biggest fan, Mets seem to have escaped a head ache in Bauer.

At least Noah's original tweet was funny. I hope Thor takes him deep this year.
