HEY DT
Have you ever made a knife like this?
I've been seeing a lot of ads for this Japanese knife and I'm curious how it would handle and if you ever or possibly could make one.

"Hand Forged" I hate that design. It'd be fine without the hole in it.

I have made a similar one in the past.
I could look into doing another one, I'm just slowing down a little these days.

I'm really curious, as I've never done forging, as to how that design gets made on the top edge of the knife.

With a sheath and shipping, I would guess around $150-$165.megman wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 2:01 amAren't we all.DiverTexas wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 5:55 pm I have made a similar one in the past.

Re: HEY DT
I was thinking the same. There is a reason a Western chef's knife is shaped and weighted the way it is, it's a shape that gives the most utility in use and is easiest and safest to hold and handle. That hole and your finger in it along with the skinny-ass handle looks like it would be tiring to hold after a few whacks and not really steady.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.
