Geist's official movie/tv recommendation thread

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.

I've tried watching Rocky Horror a few times, I can't get through it. I don't get all the hub bub
Tim Curry is why. That's it. His attitude, androgeny, singing, plus Brad and Janet are fucking retarded  it took the BF several years before he finally got it. Smoking lots of pot helps too.
It's a cult classic.
Audience participation in theaters back in the day was hilarious!

It still happens at a local theater near me. Knowing all of the fun stuff like that makes it fun watching at home too.
I saw it at a drive-in about 10 years ago and people were doing it from their cars! They even threw rice and toast out their windows!

Stapes wrote: Sat Oct 30, 2021 12:56 am Is anybody going to go see the movie Dune? If you are it's definitely the kind of movie you need to see in a theater not on your TV. I went and saw in the 3D version and I thought that was pretty good that way also. I'm sure IMAX would be the best but I don't have one near me. If you're a Sci-Fi and special effects nerd this is a really good movie. A lot slower pace than say a Star Wars type movie but part one is staying pretty close to the book. I look forward to part 2.

On a side note I haven't been to a movie theater in almost 18 months and I can say the popcorn still sucks and the people behind the counter are still idiots.
I got the booster today for Moderna. If I feel alright I'll probably go to the biggest IMAX I've found for the matinee Sunday.

P.S. I noticed when I saw the newest Bond movie that the theaters are also being affected by the supply problems. They were out of some stuff.
Booster wasn't nearly as bad as the second Moderna, so I'm going tomorrow! :D

P.S. Actually, I reacted worse to this year's flu shot for some reason

How does Edward Scissorhands wipe his ass? 🤔
Um he doesn't have to eat, so he doesn't make poops.

Lol I knew you'd post that. He sits down and does normal human things because that's what his creator taught him to do. But he doesn't HAVE to eat. Like to survive. He's a monster. He doesn't poop. But, if you must believe that he shits, I guess to wipe he would just drag himself on the bathroom rug like a soiled dog.
Sounds legit.

I also loved him in "Clue".

And scary as hell in the first "It"

P.S. Saw Dune in IMAX. Yeah, it was worth it.

I can't find the movie thread so bite me.

Re-watching/binging Preacher. Been awhile and it still brings me a few laughs. Anyone seen that series? It was on Netflix I think.

I have watched so many cartel series on Netflix that you would think that I would be fluent or at least conversational in Spanish by now.

Narcos and Narcos Mexico are great but I really enjoyed the spanish Chapo series with English dub. The dub doesn't match the English subtitles but fun watch either way.

So much of what happens in season 3 of Narcos Mexico happened within 20 miles of where I live. Kinda of surreal.
