Both are tragic. One is not "better" than the other.
Did they use guns?
Of course they did.

Children are slaughtered in the weekly Chicago shootings too. Why are the ones in Uvalde more important?

Don't answer that; it's obviously a rhetorical question. We know it's because the Chicago shootings don't help o advance the anti-freedom, anti-2nd Amendment, anti-American liberal Victim Narrative™.

We certainly do not. Most of us don't hate freedom.

I didn't change anything. I used the word "slaughter" to mock your overblown outrage. The hand-wringing and pearl-clutching you're doing over Uvalde is ridiculous.

Y'all can't even agree that you should expect to see more gun violence around gangs and drugs than in schools? This country is fucked.

Has the idea ever occurred to you that when an evil person sees signs posted around a place like a school that says "Gun Free Zone", being a criminal, he doesn't see a barrier, he sees an opportunity. See, Liberals think- "Put these signs up- Problem solved". Again, no gun in history has ever killed anyone by itself.

Why should he be embarrassed? He's completely correct. Did those "gun-free zone" signs help at Sandy Hook?
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet the weekends come with double-digit black-on-black shootings that we're not supposed to talk about because they don't help the idiot left's Victim Narrative™. You don't think people with ill intent recognize an easy opportunity when they see it?

Of course but the point of the comparison is that among the dead gangbangers innocent lives are also lost in the Chicago killings and no one gives a fuck.

On May 12th a Texas prison inmate stabbed a guard and escaped a prison bus. After not being captured, on June 2nd, he murdered 5 people and was then found and killed by authorities.

In the meantime, prison transports by bus were suspended while they investigated what went wrong. Today, they resumed those bus trips after making some changes.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice will resume inmate transportation on Monday following a brief pause after a convicted murderer escaped from a prison bus last month and killed five people.

During the pause earlier this week, TDCJ officials say they conducted “a comprehensive review of its transportation procedures” to investigate how the murderer escaped. On Saturday, the agency announced it had found solutions, which include having three officers on a bus, enhancing their search of inmates before they board, upgrading their bus cameras, transporting “high risk” inmates alone and upgrading jail medical facilities to reduce offsite transports.

Apparently, changes can be made after a terrible event. And made VERY quickly.

The problem is those changes sound so great now until about 10 years from now when people get all lax again and say "What changes"?

When i used to do corrections, 9/10 someone got something past a checkpoint it was because some of timer didn't want to do his job and properly strip search. You'd be the surpised at the crevaces you can conceal something, especially if you have flaps or nappy hair

Of course it is. Inmates have been escaping Texas transportation custody for almost 200 years. I'm pretty sure after every one, "officials" met and came up with a new Super Duper plan so it would never happen again. The problem isn't the new plans, it's forgetting about them and getting lax over the years.

No. But I'll take that "might" with a large M because I haven't heard anything remotely connected between the two.

both were tragic events in their own regard. in one they made several policy changes to keep the event from ever occurring again. And they did it in less than one month.

Hell, I'll give you the perfect example that happened with no "might". Sandy Hook happened 10 years ago. In the little town of Iraan in W Texas, 1000 miles away, and probably places like Uvalde, school and law enforcement officials sprang into action. All kids were locked in from entry until classes were over. No one was allowed to leave for lunch. 2 deputies roamed the grounds during school hours- a couple of teachers with licenses had their firearms always handy. Then 2012 slid into 2013-4, and it was like "It's pretty silly to not let the Jrs and Srs leave for lunch- they're almost adults" and "Can you believe how much these Deputies are costing the School District- maybe just one is need" 2013 slid into 2014-5 and it's like "How ridiculous to carry around the keys to the doors- the kids are just going to the playground and back" 2014-15-16/ etc etc etc. No danger here- how silly. It's called apathy and getting lax. You can have all the super duper plans you want.
