Being a Padre fan is kinda like being a Cubs fan before they won a ring. We get excited when things like this happen, but until we get a championship, we will expect something to go wrong.

One of the players the Padres traded to the Nationals refused to go. Last I heard that guy was headed to the Red Sox instead?
Erik Hosmer had a no trade clause. He went to Boston instead. Good guy, slipping on defense, and rolls over on too many grounders.

Burn1dwn is dancing in the street right about now.
Been at game 1 of the double header. I didn't believe until I saw the newscasters interviewing people on way into stadium. The Scherzer Swindle by the Dodgers last year still hurt. Not getting Mad MAX last year ended up being the key to today's trade.
Soto, Bell, Hader and no Hosmer. Christmas came early this year. I will be back Thursday to see Soto. I feel bad for Luke Voit though.

See my post above. Until it was 1000% done, I didn't believe it.

Lets see how the Padres will fuck this one up
Yesterday couldn't have gone any better. Walk off HR in Game 2 giving Darth Hader a W. Soto and Bell arriving last night and should be in line-up today.
They may have mortgaged their future but this team seems legit barring injury.*
*Assuming Tatis comes back in a couple weeks at 75% or better.

Not to mention bullpen help from Pomeranz, Suarez, and Pierce Johnson.

FIgured most here wouldn't know them but yeah. Everything is lining up for them.
I am so over all the Hosmer hate. I didn't want him on team but he should not be getting the "good riddance" he is getting.

Hosmer and Gallo had targets on their backs.
I just don't understand the level of fan hatred.

Gallo was a good guy and great defensively, but never lived up to his "3 outcomes" rep.
NY isn't for everyone, I hope he does well on the left coast (not too well though, 'cause I'm a Mets fan)

Yeah, cant understand how someone that hits .150 and strikeouts 40% of the time doesnt get the love he deserves. Baffling

Bye bye Franchy and Dalbec.
Thanks Padres for eating the $40+ million to make Hosmer.
Boston sports talk is loving the new public masturbator they got from CWS.
I was shocked to hear Franchy was playing first. Apparently not very well. Did they have him work on that in the minors first? I don't remember him ever being in the infield when he was coming up.
I think Hosmer vetoed the trade to the Nats to bring his wife back to Boston. She was on NESN.
