Thanksgiving food for thought

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.

Thanksgiving food for thought

#1

Post by woohooguy »

So I bought the bird on Friday. 27 fucking pounds, I tossed it on the passenger seat as no paper bag would contain this beast. Damn passenger seatbelt warning was going off the whole ride home, if I panic stopped this frozen bird would have totaled the car from the inside out.

Expecting some 12 to 14 people, seems all the nieces and nephews will be coming. Hopefully my mom can make it, and hopefully we can keep the grandson Wednesday night.

What's your plans for Thanksgiving?

Going to the in laws and apparently going to have BBQ ribs. They are kind of jehovah witnesses and never really celebrated holidays. I also dislike my wife's mom. We get to stay in a trailer with no plumbing and little heat. So....fun all around.

I'm jealous. I would rather stay home but we are going to my wife's sister's place. No problem with any of her family, I just would rather chill out at home.

I am hosting like 20 people at the lake house. I am hoping for no drama but I know that will never happen. I have my son and a couple of marines joining so I am sure we will be doing some long range targets to kill time.

I had to get 2 birds so both smokers will be going. If you haven’t done a spatchcock style Turkey I would highly recommend it

I'm repulsed by the fact that someone wasted a perfectly good turkey dick by not flavoring the gravy with it.

Hope your Thanksgiving eve is going well!

We have the grandson, My mom made it down and they have had a lot of fun, he is now sleeping while my mom makes the most of our streaming services..

Tomorrow the son in law picks up the grandson to take to his side of the family, and the wife and I wish he didn't have to.. They don't see him that often and I know he will probably be very reserved and a "problem" when they try to expose the little guy to the family he has no fucking clue about... the family that wont bother to see him on a regular basis..

Maybe I shouldn't post this..

Maybe I just need to get it off my chest..

Man that is so frustrating. Like kids aren't allowed to have personalities. Hope they don't try to force him into hugging them and stuff. Not respecting a kid as an actual person with wants and needs boils my blood. How old is he?

In Scottsdale for a few week, maybe the rest of the year if we decide. Just the wife and I with 2 of 3 of the kids. Overbought of course and will feel wasteful when we throw too much out on Saturday/Sunday. On the plus side, my lemons are ripening early so I get to use them when we cook
