NCAA athletes have been exploited by the NCAA and school endowments for a long, long time.

I can't say I'd feel bad for the NCAA or schools.

"Exploited"- full tuition, free board and food, chance to advance to the next level for those lucky few- free education for those not. Those poor degraded people.

I just will never understand the mindset where everything is broken down into 2 groups- victims and exploiters. Myopic to the nth degree.

A lot of those poor schmucks get into college based solely on their athletic ability and their academic achievements mean nothing. If they don't make it to the "next level" they end up working at Home Depot for the rest of their lives because they shouldn't have made it into those colleges in the first place.

I can't count how many times I've seen some NCAAF player in a Q & A session and I come away from it thinking, "That guy got into that college when some poor asshole with a 3.8 GPA didn't!"

A lot of those guys can barely speak the English language.

actually, most all of those poor schmucks get into college solely because of their athletic ability. But the rest of your story doesn't make much sense. What would they have ended up doing without the chance to go to college?

It's a broken system. Maybe Charlie Baker can give it an overhaul (somehow).

I bet if Salty was in charge of college sports, everything would have to be padded. Probably came up with the land whale idea for female cheerleaders.

well, you put a lot of effort into setting up what seemed like it was going to be some earth shattering point that somehow relied on whether I had set foot on a college campus. you never made it and now act as though there never was one.
