Well at least I didn't lose money.
if the next 12 months is going to be a recession (and it sure feels like it) then I bet that companies like McDonalds, Costco, and any companies that cater to the low income crowd are going to do well.

Thanks for doing this. You want to do this again?
sure. its easy enough to do. excel tracks stock prices. We can give everyone a month to make decisions and start the game on Feb 1. If there is enough interest.

Interested.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

Players can change their choices by posting in this thread right up until Jan 31st. At that point all choices will be locked in. If you want to play, but don't know what company to pick, toss out a product or some idea, and we will choose one for you. Disco has asked me not to let Howie play in the game, so he is not allowed.
The game will start Feb 1 (Wednesday) using prices on that were posted for the opening on that day. Same rules will apply in terms of dividends and splits, etc. If a stock splits, you will be adjusted the shares. If the stock pays a dividend, then you will give adjusted the shares in Nov or Dec. Each person will start with the number of shares it takes to purchase $10,000 of that stock on Feb 1 opening prices.
The winner will be the person that has the most value on the closing on Dec 29, 2023 (Friday).
You have to pick a stock that is listed on a major stock exchange that can be tracked with its ticker symbol.
