T2 is certainly better than T1, I'll give you that. I dont know if I'd go so far as saying T1 sucked though.

T1 far from sucked. Absolute ground breaking story. T1's awesomeness begat T2 with a huge budget increase including of course CGI special effects which seems to have dazzled OP's senses.

I saw T2 before T1, so this opinion makes sense.

T2 is an absolute masterpiece
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

T1 is good, it's a bit rough in some spots because the effects and "animation" were so unusual and new for the time.
