This is what I got.

I'll try plugging it in to both the house and the shop to see if it solves the problem.
My house and shop are both on the same meter, I'll try that if not.
Since you are trying things. Get an extension cord for each one and when you plug it in put it in a window or in a location that has clear sight to the shop. Then do the same at the shop and see if that makes a difference. I think what you have should work.

I still don't think this will solve the whole "signal through metal" problem but I'm not sure of the setup.

Actually I'm surprised he didn't mention drilling holes in your door.

Yeah, it's truly amazing all the people that come flocking here asking for your advice on issues.
PRH mentioned in his opening post that the metal walls of his shop seemed to be the problem. I just don't think a wi-fi extender is the answer but like I said, I don't know the set-up.

Ask him about fraud.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

Actually, I was thinking about his feral pig trash can traps that he couldn't stop talking about until he stopped talking about his feral pig trash can traps.

This setup works...I've had a similar situation and it solved my problem...did this a couple of years back.

Well I hooked this up today. I set it up in the garage because the walls are uninsulated and there is no inside sheeting so I thought that would give me the best chance.
Just as ctc predicted, it works great. I am now able to watch TV in the shop with the doors closed.
