and it takes no more science than common sense to know that when you have a disease that is passed on from one person to another, then keeping those people from coming in direct contact is smart. Which is probably where it went over your head.

In ONE state there is a law that allows that. And you will only ever be arrested for driving too close if you are also 1) exceedingly reckless, 2) taking part in street racing, or 3) manage to piss off the officer who pulled you over and he adds charges.
