Things I think about

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.

Calling something remarkable is a very low bar. Just saying "that's remarkable" is a remark.

Compared to a Who thread this is absolute gold.

That was the description of the MRI on my shoulder. Then it was 3 hours of surgery.

Ok I get what you're saying. Calling something "remarkable" can indeed be quite vague. Sometimes, it's more impactful to provide specific details or context to truly highlight why something stands out.

In the 1970's there was a nationwide study where they took blood samples from 40,000 random people (NHANES II, https://www.jci.org/articles/view/28232/figure/1 ), that showed 70% of all males in the US had blood lead levels over 10 micrograms per deciliter. Today, if you are over 2 micrograms per deciliter, they call that elevated blood lead. And some people call more than 3.5 micrograms per liter "blood poisoning"
It was a result of men driving around with leaded gasoline in the car, and blood lead levels have decreased dramatically over the last 50 years.
