Ah, the old Anti-semitism deflection.

Douglas Murray is the kind of guy to throw fundraisers for the IDF in the UK and then go report from Gaza as an objective "journalist".

He is just as much of a hack as Cenk.

I think the point is more about the hyper focus of Muslims on this issue while Muslims are literally getting put into forced labor camps or prison, murdered indiscriminately and rumored organ harvesting facilities for the Chinese elite as just one example. My take was that hes simply wondering where is the outrage and protests from the Muslim community (and sympathizers) over that and other things?

The hostages were rescued from a civilian house that was guarded by regular Hamas and Palestinian civilians.
Other hostages are known to have been kept prisoner by regular Palestinian families in other civilian residences.
I know you want to separate Hamas and the Palestinian people but time and again, from election and polling support, to examples like this, I'm not sure how disparate they actually are. I do want to believe that Hamas is the exception in the populace but at this point I'm not sure if thats possible.

ME conflicts getting more attention than other parts of the world... That would have been a true statement. Battles between religions also gets lots of play on the media. To pretend only Jews get criticized is a lazy argument and one that is far from true.

Like it or not, Israel vs Palestinians divides people in the west more than other world disputes. Engagement is basically medias goal these days.

As far as the examples he gives...

Sudan has basically been in a state of perpetual civil war and military coups since it gained independence. Just like a lot of other African nations. Does it get coverage? Yes but civil wars are not as sexy as they used to be. The last civil war to get daily coverage in the west was Syria, which happens to be in the ME and is not Jewish.

China gets plenty of blowback for their treatment of Uyghurs and the use of detention camps in the west. There have been college protests and there is a divestment movement underway (just like Israel). If that is happening in the west, I'm sure Muslims are upset and vocal about the subject in their news. I would need to look into it. Maybe if more news was allowed to trickle out, the movement would be bigger but China does a great job of shutting down negative stories. Look at Covid.

Pakistan is just doing what a lot of American Conservatives want to do to our borders and illegal aliens. This seems like a stupid point to throw into his argument that only Jewish actions are scrutinized. Muslims are more conservative than liberal. It doesn't surprise me that Muslims aren't up in arms about a country protecting its borders and citizens.

Lets not forget:
Hamas still has AMERICAN hostages. When is the last time you even heard Shit Shows administration mention them?

Families of US hostages in Gaza plead with Americans: Don’t forget your fellow citizens
