I respect Rose's intensity and longevity but to me his record is cheapened a bit because he played more than half of his games on that old hard "astroturf" which didn't replicate the ball bounce as well as current turf.
I'm not saying he still wouldn't have been a great hitter but you know a bunch of his hits would have been outs on natural grass.
I may be a bit bitter because he broke Cobb's record.

Cobb WAR: 6th 151.5
Rose WAR: 66th 79.5

That list really shows the benefits of steroids. I can't belive Maddux is so far below Clemens with more innings pitched.
