No matter how "entrenched" or "deeply connected" Gaetz may be, it is not and never will be, moreso than the President of the United States.
Your premise insists that a Republican state rep has more sway and power over the United States Department of Justice led by a partisan Democrat than a former POTUS.
Look, I'm not saying Gaetz is innocent. He clearly likes (or liked) to have a good time. It's just a huge reach to claim he's more untouchable than Trump.
