I live in the upstate of South Carolina? What is this tax on alcohol? You’re talking about? My local moonshine doesn’t charge tax.

The tariffs are being used for leverage. They are an incentive (economic threat) to encourage the tariffed countries to more align with our goals (secure the border, stop drugs etc.).

US Customs says last year they seized 21,000 lbs of Fentanyl at the southern border.
During that same time period, they seized 43 lbs of Fentanyl at the Canadian border. That's 0.2% of what they seized at the Mexican border.

But Felon 47 says that Canada is a YUGE fentanyl problem!

It's almost like the problem would go away if the drug market were legalized and regulated. But that would require conservatives to admit the war on drugs is a scam and a complete failure of outwardly stated purposes. Too bad American conversatives are such easily-fooled dipshits.

So 21,000 lbs would be 22,936,000,000 lethal doses.

Mexico agrees to send 10k troops to help with border issues. This, the border closure, the deportations of criminals just proves Shit Show and the Democrats could have done something but chose not to.

Canada is funny.

This morning Trump was going to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada tonight at midnight.

The stock market was down 700 points.

Then, Mexico made a deal with Trump and he decided to delay the tariffs on Mexico.

Now the stock market is only down 60 points.

Mexico didn't give up anything they weren't already doing.
Trump was desperate for an excuse to back out of his tariff threats and the Mexican Prez knew it. So she tossed him a token that he can Tweet about and save face.
