Article in my local paper today reported that the HUGE solar farm near the CA/NV border is being 2/3 shut down due to being 11 years old and obsolete.

Holy shit. So with all of the tariff talk I did a bit of research. Canada ALREADY has massive tariffs on goods from the USA. A bit hypocritical, eh?

"Canada has implemented several tariffs on goods from the United States, with some specific rates on various products. Here's an overview based on recent data:

Dairy products: Tariffs can be as high as 245%-298%.
Poultry: Tariffs are around 238%.
Fish: A tariff of 100% applies.
Tobacco: Also subject to a 100% tariff.
Consumer Goods: A general tariff rate of 30% is imposed.
Lumber: Tariffs range from 17-20%.
Steel: Tariffs are between 25-50%.
Aluminum: Approximately 10% tariff is applied."

You could plug the question into another AI if you'd like. Maybe you'll get something different. You asked for the source. I provided it. If it's wrong I have no problem accepting a different answer.

Again, just like I said to Rick. If you can find other information, please go ahead and post it. If you two want to dispute the conclusions of the AI then go ahead and post an alternative source(s) that prove it wrong. It's really pretty simple. It's not my fault, or the AI's, that these Canadian tariffs are already in place and have been for some time.

Solar panels still work on cloudy days, dude. Not at peak efficiency, but they still work.
I know dude. Ive looked into solar for my house. The point is why purposely build something that you know will automatically be less than optimal for 33% of the year? And chop down almost 500 acres of virgin forest to do it?
trees remove carbon from the atmosphere and are a key ingredient to maintaining a balance. To cut down trees in order to build a solar farm is the definition of stupid.

Thats like recommending the use of a diesel generator to recharge an electric car.

Dude, you're not ever going to convince them. In their (little pea-brain) heads, 47 aka FOTUS said he won, so he won. Not that he got anything we didn't already have an agreement for, but that doesn't matter. He gets to think he flexed his flabby muscles, so win for the US, I guess.

I like the idea you're taking American liquor off the shelf, bold move! Drink Canadian, and have one for me! 8-)
