I really don't get this. I don't know if this is like keeping Israel out of the Iraq war or fighting ISIS to protect them from backlash but what does the US gain from rebuilding Gaza for the Israelis.

And America "owning it" would be such a net negative for anyone not directly involved with the rebuilding or ownership. I really can't believe he thought he had the political capital to try this shit 2 weeks after his inauguration.

Trump built the Trump Tower in Vegas just out of walking distance from the main part of the Strip and without it's own casino. Pretty fucking dumb if you ask me.

I remember reading The Art of the Deal a loooooooong time ago. At that time Trump was just building some big casino in New Jersey (I think). I think it was the Taj Mahal. In the book he wrote about how it was going to be a gold mine.

I think it went bankrupt not long after it opened. I just remember in his book he talked about what a slam dunk it was going to be. I never really heard what the problem with it was. But I have since learned that most developers do jobs without much personal money (if any) involved in a deal. They get the lions share of the profits, but they don't have any skin in the game. I assume his deals are mostly the same thing. He probably get something for the name.
