QD, what's up with this bullshit?
We are freezing our asses off in Orlando.
Other than that...
I'll give credit where it's due: this is our first time staying "on property" for Disney and everyone and everything is very nice and well done. The shuttles between the parks and resorts are incredibly handy. Aside from the shit weather A+

We always stayed on property starting with our first stay in 1974 at the Polynesian. You can't beat it.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 11:57 pm We are freezing our asses off in Orlando.

The shuttles alone make it worthwhile. Uber or Lyft to and from the airport and they make a rental car completely unnecessary.BigChiefin wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 12:15 amWe always stayed on property starting with our first stay in 1974 at the Polynesian. Yea, staying on Disney property is your best bet, when/if you can afford it. It's certainly not the cheaper option by far, but if you're willing to sacrifice the contents of your wallet and all savings accounts to the Disney Gods, you will have a very good time. Don't forget Universal, Seaworld, Legoland, and even Busch Gardens (Tampa) if you have the extra bucks and a ride there. I'd recommend a couple of good springs parks to visit, but not in this weather.
A little fun hack that actually costs nothing is just to get on the monorail and takes circles around the parks. My wife and I occasionally do that when we're around Disney's "free" areas for dinner. I haven't been on paid Disney property since 2010, and the last I paid for a ticket (even at FL resident price) was a few years before that. We go to Universal maybe once a year (we live near it), and went to Legoland last year and had a great time.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Unfortunately this time frame was out of our control. Little Miss Cheezy is in the nationals dance competition held there.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 3:40 pmI would have never recommended staying in Orlando in January or February. Late November, December, [weather can really suck] then late March to April. Wonderful weather: not cold, not hot. By the end of May it can get just too damn inhumanly warm. The rides are one thing when it's hot, but entirely different beast when it's cold, that's asking for frostbite, a strange thing to get in Central Florida.

I see!
If I'd known, maybe we could have met up for a couple moments. I've known some of you for so long yet never met, it's almost like you don't really exist except by some kind of futuristic cosmic AI or something.

Gunzen once posted that his kid was attending the University of Nebraska, I live right off of I-80, and told him that I would like to meet up and even buy dinner any time he went to Lincoln, he never took me up on it. I'm about half way between Grand Island and Lincoln if anyone is ever passing through.

Disney and similar theme parks are my personal hell. After the first time, I just sent the wife by herself with the kiddos. Couldn’t drag me there again
