New Hampshire is voting. I remember when this used to be an exciting day. Even if my candidate didn’t win, which he (they were all men) usually didn’t, I loved both the reliable rituals and the unexpected little accidents. If memory serves (the video doesn’t seem to be online), I recall Illinois Senator Paul Simon saying during his concession speech in 1988 that “our platform is strong”—right before the riser he was standing on collapsed.

Well, it’s not exciting now. It’s depressing. I’m depressed. Almost everybody I know, every Democrat anyway, is depressed. It’s a mess. Iowa was a shitshow and shouldn’t be first anyway. New Hampshire shouldn’t be second, it’s totally preposterous, yet the party lacks the stones to tell these self-important, second-tier states to go stuff it. The candidates don’t look like winners. The party looks like it might be headed toward a face-off between a billionaire and a man who wants to ban billionaires, neither of them really Democrats.

Trump tweeted a clip from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' that shows Larry David in a MAGA hat, seemingly not realizing it's an insult

President Donald Trump on Monday night tweeted a clip from the HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" but seemed to miss the punch line.

Trump posted the 30-second clip from the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 10 premiere, which shows Larry David dressed in a Make America Great Again hat.

The episode, called "Happy New Year," first aired January 19.

The clip shows David driving along the freeway when he accidentally cuts in front of a man on a motorcycle.

The man starts cursing at David and pulls up alongside his car as if he wants to fight him. To avoid confrontation, David puts on a Make America Great Again hat, the adopted uniform of Trump supporters.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you," David tells the angry motorcyclist.

Realizing David is wearing a MAGA hat, the motorcyclist brushes off the incident and changes his tone.

"Just be more careful next time, OK?" he says, then leaves.

Trump posted the clip on Twitter on Sunday night, alongside the caption "TOUGH GUYS FOR TRUMP!"

The tweet has since been reposted more than 20,000 times.

Some users pointed out that Trump seemed to miss the joke of the episode, which is that David wears the hat to avoid unwanted interactions with people.

Literally 5 min later in the episode: “It’s a great people repellent.”

Representatives for David and HBO did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider.

David's blunt character on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has garnered comparisons to Trump, which the "Seinfeld" cocreator has been quick to dismiss.

David is also an outspoken critic of the president. The 72-year-old comedian heckled Trump's "Saturday Night Live" opening monologue in 2015, calling him a racist.

I think they're actually right in characterizing Bloomberg as "Not A Democrat."

In the past, he'd be called a Rockefeller Republican (or something similar, "Kennedy Democrat" maybe?).

Thing is, if one could be nominated, they'd probably have a real chance of winning.

P.S. Hey Bicker, this is what a Centrist sort of looks like. Rino for one party, "Not A Democrat" or "Republican pretending he's a Democrat" for the other.

Good evaluation.

Just like Trump, Bloomberg can't be trusted with the keys to the party. Not enough skeletons or favors to repay.

Because Biden isnt a centrist? GTFO

And as Ive stated before, I'll take a Bloomberg nomination any day
Yeah, he'd be my next choice after Joe. I'd take him over the rest of clown car. I think the R's could keep him in check for the most part but god only knows what kind of goofy executive orders he might derp out. The wild card is the kind of appointments he'd make. Would he be moderate or would he give in to the base for his picks?

Yeah, dudes toast. To me he looks like a guy just going through the motions. With Bernie, to his credit, he's all in. The guy lives and breathes what he says.
As of now I think its between Bernie and Bloomberg. Maybe Mayor Pete can sneak in there. Truthfully, I kinda hope for that as his black and Latino support is basically nill.

It's Bernie and Bloomberg.

Baring a miracle run, Mayor Pete and Klobes are done. Love that the Bernie Bros are calling Pete "rat boy". I saw someone say Klobes didn't have any staff outside New Hampshire and Iowa and would need to hire 1,000 people before tomorrow if they wanted to even try to extend things.

Biden was almost out of cash two weeks ago. Can't imagine he's uncovered the money tree with those two results. He literally might be done in 2 weeks even though his polling isn't bad. His strategy of not trying Iowa and New Hampshire was idiotic.

Bloomberg will never stop and he's polling third nationally. Stories about him hiring up staff in every state from the other campaigns with guaranteed paychecks until November are big (saw a Bernie guy say he was quitting to go with Bloomberg because it was double the pay). He's not asking the Dem elite money people for donations, he's asking them to commit to not donating to anyone until he says so and supposedly they are doing it.

At the same time, it's almost impossible that Bloomberg would have the majority of the primary votes going into the convention.

Amy klobuchar has Cargill backing her. I'm sure they would come up with money if they thought she was a contender.

I could actually live with Bloomberg. he was mayor in New York City for a long time and being from New Jersey I'm pretty familiar with him.

It will be awesome if it's those two at the wire! A former republican old white billionaire with a fondness for nanny-state policies and is the very definition of oligarch vs a "bigger government is the answer to everything" guy who won't condemn failed socialist states and is the favorite of the free stuff crowd.
