i'm not understanding this crash in the American Airlines stock in the past month or so. I think its down around 40% for the year. Other than the 737 fiasco, what's up with that?

People travel less because of virus and travel restrictions because of virus.

i'm not talking about a bailout because of that. i'm talking about a company asking for government compensation in order to limit business to help control a pandemic. i have never heard that being used before, but it makes sense. i'm sure a good group of lawyers could make a case for it.

Companies are cutting all travel. I would expect a huge drop in revenues So cancelling may not be a bad idea. They could wind up losing money.

Twitter and Facebook cancelled their attendance. If a few more do that, it's over. Facebook also cancelled several international conventions.

The problem isn't that if you get it you might die. The problem companies are facing is if you get it and the government finds out, you and the people you work with could be quarantined for 2 weeks. Imagine if all the people in a corporate jet were quarantined.
