i know you aren't dumb enough to not understand the real point. No one really thinks that any of this is a hoax. But, a lot of people feel like the nutty fringe of the democratic party are using this pandemic as a means to undermine the current government in charge. Obviously you see that happening, right?

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
I have seen a lot of people picking out things that could have been done differently, like the airport screening saturday or sunday. obviously that got a lot of traction because it made great pictures for tv.
i have just always hated monday morning quarterbacks, so it strikes me as so stupid and immature. But, I do love to read where someone has made a suggestion and then seen whether it was done or not and weighed the consequences.
For example, if a team was about to run a 3rd down play in a particular situation and you said, "They should fake a run, roll out and throw......". Then watch the play unfold, see what they really do and what the defense was prepared for, etc.
But, in this situation, i don't see any of "you guys" giving suggestions, only criticism. I called out Stapes the other day and asked him straight up 'what do you think the nation should do?". Of course, rather than answer, he gave some snarky canned remark that has been perpetuated by the political brainwashing.

That is a good idea. I saw a breakdown of the mortality rate of this virus based on different age categories. Really young it was almost 0%. Up to over 80 yo it was around 25%.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 3:35 pm What should we do?

so, there is no question that the older (and more feable) a person the more vulnerable. I would even think that maybe having home deliveries to people over 70 wouldn't be too much to ask. Of course, then you get into the problem of having to determine who qualifies, etc. That's the problem with mass solutions, you can't trust people to be honest.

I'm not sure which snarky remark your referring to. I have many. What should the nation do? Well its not the nation in charge its the Trump administration. I started this thread at the end of January. I'm a fucking nobody and saw this thing was a problem. I am sure at the highest levels of the government this administration was given information about what was going on in China and the possible/probable infection getting to the U.S.
Trump ignored and downplayed the virus up to less than 2 weeks ago. His administration lied repeatedly about it being contained because he felt the news would affect his re-election against the advice and information of world experts. We are still behind the 8 ball because there isn't enough testing equipment to see exactly what the infection rate is and had the gall to refuse testing equipment from the World Health Organization.
We could have spent 6 weeks prepping hospitals and responders with proper equipment and coordinating response teams and getting everybody on state and federal levels on the same page but because of his ignorant arrogance we're stuck putting out fires. It isn't political brainwashing. It is a systematic failure of this administration, the unqualified leadership he has put in positions of power and his own incompetence. He doesn't belong in the job....he isn't fit to manage a newspaper stand. Instead of constantly worrying about hurting your cult leaders feelings you should be just as angry as me that he has failed everyday for 3 years.

I wish most stores had hand sanitizer available at the entrance and in the store. I have had to stop a few times over the past few days (Home Depot, grocery store, lunch, etc) and that is the one thing that I wish was available. I'm not too much of a germaphobe normally, but knowing how easily this can spread on surfaces, it would be nice to have a way to wash clean my hands after touching door knobs, etc.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
Do I want to bring all those people off? People would like me to do it,” Trump admitted at a press conference at the CDC later on Friday. “I would rather have them stay on, personally.”
“I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault,” Trump added, saying that he ultimately empowered Pence to decide whether to evacuate the passengers.
For six weeks behind the scenes, and now increasingly in public, Trump has undermined his administration’s own efforts to fight the coronavirus outbreak — resisting attempts to plan for worst-case scenarios, overturning a public-health plan upon request from political allies and repeating only the warnings that he chose to hear. Members of Congress have grilled top officials like Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Disease Control Director Robert Redfield over the government’s biggest mistake: failing to secure enough testing to head off a coronavirus outbreak in the United States. But many current and former Trump administration officials say the true management failure was Trump’s.
always ladders to the top,” said one person helping advise the administration’s response, who noted that Trump’s aides discouraged Azar from briefing the president about the coronavirus threat back in January. “Trump’s created an atmosphere where the judgment of his staff is that he shouldn’t need to know these things.”
Interviews with 13 current and former officials, as well as individuals close to the White House, painted a picture of a president who rewards those underlings who tell him what he wants to hear while shunning those who deliver bad news. For instance, aides heaped praise on Trump for his efforts to lock down travel from China — appealing to the president’s comfort zone of border security — but failed to convey the importance of doing simultaneous community testing, which could have uncovered a potential U.S. outbreak. Government officials and independent scientists now fear that the coronavirus has been silently spreading in the United States for weeks, as unexplained cases have popped up in more than 25 states.

Turn off whatever media brainwashing you have on at the moment and answer me one question.
If this country had a million really good coronavirus tests back in January, and they put you in charge of those tests and you could have done whatever you wanted with them. Tell me, without talking about Trump, what you would have done with those tests to keep an outbreak of cases from happening in the United States.
