Likely. Even more likely that both parties did it.

I thought all you cats followed what is going on in this country, color me purple that you only follow your noses.

The 2nd stimulus package originally contained a clause that gave every worker in America 14 days paid sick leave no matter the size company you worked for. Employers could apply for federal compensation to recover the cost of paid time off.

Gohmert from Texas didn't like that and stalled the vote till it was removed. Only companies with 50 or more employees are to be covered and a company with 500 or less employees can apply for a federal waiver.

Off to the Senate we go and Rand Paul being Rand Paul didn't like the bill at all. He tried to stall it but MoscowMitch bitch slapped him. It passed with Rand being the only desenter.

Now you know the rest of the story. I hope Rand Rests In Peace and looks up at us once in a while.

WASHINGTON ― Democrats are raising serious concerns about the Senate’s massive emergency legislation aimed at propping up the economy and giving relief to workers hit hard by the growing coronavirus pandemic, saying it’s tilted too far in favor of Wall Street and big corporations.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) attempted to advance the bill on Sunday evening, emphasizing the need to move quickly to help those who have been laid off during the crisis. He said both sides had ample time to reach a deal on outstanding issues before a final vote on Monday. But Democrats unanimously blocked the measure over its provisions allowing the Trump administration to lend hundreds of billions of dollars to major industries like hotels, casinos, cruise lines, and oil and gas.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), meanwhile, said his party opposed moving forward with the bill “because among other problems it includes huge bailouts without protections for people and workers and without accountability, and because it shortchanges our hospitals and health care workers who need our help.”

Another provision in the bill Democrats oppose would allow Mnuchin to delay publicly releasing the names of businesses that receive a bailout, as well as the amounts of those loans, for six months.

“We’re not here to create a slush fund for Donald Trump and his family, or a slush fund for the Treasury Department to be able to hand out to their friends,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) told reporters. “We’re here to help workers, we’re here to help hospitals. And right now what the Republicans proposed does neither of those.”

Its the Democrats that want to give cash grants rather than loan guarantees, you ignorant cunt

It's amazing how Democrat biker always leaps to the defense of the Republicans. A real Democrat knows that if a Republican is in favor of something the rich are going to get richer and the little guy is about to get ass raped again.

I would love for you to call me an ignorant cunt to my face....it would be the last thing to come out of your mouth for quite a while you elitist scumbag.

Fuck you and your whole anti business schtick. I'm a middle class dude. Just like you. Most small business owners are. We are your brothers, sisters and neighbors. And we are the largest employer in the god damn country. God fucking forbid we also get some help so we can keep our employees employed and our businesses alive. What fucking good does it do if we go out of business because of your "fuck the businesses" attitude? Just for my situation: if I go under thats 7 people that are now unemployed because you don't think business should be helped. Fucking brilliant. Now multiply that across the entire nation in every county and every city. Your understanding of this situation is just patently partisan and frankly, dumb. We are not the evil, blood suckers you think we are.

Your such a sad stupid man cheezy. Nobody is talking about small business owners. I've said over and over I'm not referring to you fucking snowflake. They are talking about Airlines who spent their money on stock buybacks instead of holding for a rainy day. Cruise lines, Wall Street etc..… Get off your high horse . When I'm talking about looking out for the little guy I am including you dumb ass. You are either incredibly stupid or just refuse to listen to what is being said

The thing is, Cheezy, will you get any substantial assistance? Most of the business assistance seems to be tilting towards large industries, not small business owners. The state and local governments are probably looking more to your back than the feds are. If they are.

What pisses me off are all the large companies who've had recent great profits, but instead of using those profits for cash reserves, spent it on stock buy-backs to shore up their "shareholder value". In my area, that's Disney, Universal, Sea World, and the large hotel chains. Instead of keeping a bit back for "a rainy day" like the rest of us are constantly advised to do, they spent it all on cheap stock and executive bonuses. *Now* they need some to keep business going, and they have their hands out. I'd say "fuck 'em!" but you're right, putting them out of business based on their own records of malfeasance puts a lot more people at risk than I'd certainly want. But do you think for a moment the feds are putting the average citizen and small business owner (you, f'rinstance) at the forethought of their assistance? Nice living in such a dream world, Cheezy. They're not the least concerned with you.

Boeing spent 60bn on share buybacks and dividend payments over a decade and now they want a 60bn bailout. They should get a bailout, Boeing is too big a part of the economy to let fail, but it should come at the cost of wiping out their major shareholders, other than their pension scheme holdings. Managers paid partly in stock and big investors in future may find that encourages more long term thinking.

There's no way that should be in there, if it really is.

But all those companies that got tax breaks from trump and congress and used that for stock bybacks. There's no way that can be allowed to happen again. And it can't be used for fattening up executive bonuses. As long as that's in there, the big guys need help too. It's not just about NOW, it's about LATER, when they need to be able to ramp back up and help with the U.S. economic recovery.

I agree, they should be forced to close or figure out a way to stay open on their own. Stop sending our money to bail them assholes out. Fuck government
