In Northern Italy, 60 volunteers who thought they'd never suffered COVID-19 gave blood. 40 of them tested positive for antibodies to the virus.

that literally has to be the case in Italy. Their death toll can't be 10% of the infected population. I honestly believe that every country has the same percentage of deaths (statistically), so anyone showing anything over 1.5% has a very large population that had VERY minor symptoms.

The plus is that there are a shit ton of people that could give plasma to treat very sick patients, PLUS a shit ton of people that can go back to work who are now immune.

The minus is that the death rate from this epidemic is MUCH lower than all the fear mongers were telling us.

How in the fucking fuck did France go from 2,100 new cases on Thursday to 23,000 new cases on Friday? What in the ever loving fuck?

this is why tracking data is so fucking futile when everyone makes up their own rules.

I cant blame you for not listening to her but she was talking about the federal government can never do too much during a crisis. 3 months ago she was bitching about Trump being a dictator.

You don't think situations should determine when we have more, or less government? For instance, after 5 years of economic growth we should have been getting away from QE and ultra low interest rates?

Why can't Trump direct Federal Aid to States that need it and not hamstring Congressional oversight at the same time? Is that too much to ask?

We can't even make enough tests for people showing symptoms, it'll be a while before they're testing for antibodies. Though it sure would be useful, both for getting back to normal, and finding out more about this disease.

No, I think governments should be limited to what their binding documents state. If they deem a situation to be a national emergency, then declare martial law and be done with it

that's a nifty saying but not very accurate. I could do a lot of things with a hammer that didn't involve beating something to pieces.
