6000 families in one area needing food isn't a canary in the coal mine to anyone? something is wrongFlumper wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:00 pmthe problem there, i think, is that people don't have the schools to provide one good meal a day for their kids. Close the schools and you are basically taking the best meal of the day away from every kid that was enrolled. So, they are having to compensate for that by opening up these food bank's. Its not the best solution, but its about the only solution.

Yeah, what is wrong is that we have this virus thing that has closed all of the schools. And the population of San Antonio is 1.5 million people. The number of those people that are considered "poverty level" is 18.6% or 279,000 people. Now, you can do the math and figure out how many school age children would be expected out of 279,000 people. 6,000 seems on the low side to me. you have to be smarter than this.Stapes wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:04 pm6000 families in one area needing food isn't a canary in the coal mine to anyone? something is wrongFlumper wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:00 pmthe problem there, i think, is that people don't have the schools to provide one good meal a day for their kids. and you have a serious disconnect on an economy that has so many working poor. I wouldn't be proud of an area that has so many kids best meals be a shitty lunch at school. What the fuck is wrong with you Texans. I'm glad it's working for you though. You got yours

Is the $600 state by state? thought it was a federal thing.Flumper wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 2:45 pmi'm not entirely sure, but i heard Lindsey Graham bitching because S Carolina (I think) was wanting to add another $600 a week ON TOP of what the federal government had alotted to people on unemployement. Basically raising them up to making WAY more than they make on their job. And I don't think its hard to figure out where that would be headed.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
Not everything is cut and dry with this virus.
More coronavirus patients testing positive again after recovery: report
https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4 ... ery-report
Coronavirus patients in South Korea are now testing positive for the virus a second time, health officials are warning, following similar reports in other countries.
Bloomberg reported Thursday that the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said in a statement announcing a formal investigation that dozens of patients have retested positive for the disease.
“While we are putting more weight on reactivation as the possible cause, we are conducting a comprehensive study on this,” KCDC Director-General Jeong Eun-kyeong said, according to Bloomberg. “There have been many cases when a patient during treatment will test negative one day and positive another.”
NPR reported late last month that similar cases were also discovered in Wuhan, China, where the virus is believed to have originated. Health officials there say that some people who tested positive weeks ago for the virus have tested positive again, including two doctors treating patients with the virus.
NPR reported that a false positive is possible if a test picks up residual virus from the initial infection.

rather than cards couldn't they just stamp something on us? like "666" or something so that everyone knows which people are safe to be around?

Probably a numeric system would be best. On the arm where it’s easy to show to others.

we should also probably set up some kind of a time frame for getting the stamp. like 7 years, for example.Wut wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 7:53 pmProbably a numeric system would be best. On the arm where it’s easy to show to others.

The NRA is fighting gun store closures during this.
The 2nd Amendment makes them essential businesses, apparently. I'm sure it also protects you against this plague too.

Oh don't worry there are PLENTY PLENTY PLENTY of readily available guns on the streets of 'Merica and if there is ever the slightest sniff that every man, woman and child can't access an arsenal, the NRA will be right there to scream "HURRY HURRY HURRY THEYRE COMING TO TAKE YOUR GUNZZZZZZZ MORE MORE MOOOOOORE" and you'll come a runnin' .

Interesting that they consider anything Covid suspected as a Covid death? Or that Flu deaths and numbers go down towards the end of flu season?

Which explains why the graph nosedives. He was insinuating it was because they were being called Covid deaths. Or did I miss his point?BigRedRetard wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 9:52 pmSO, I went to the CDC site and it looks to me like flu season is pretty much over.

IF current predictions are 66,000 deaths in the US, and.....
IF the current death rate continues at 3.5%, then......
The math (66,000 / 0.035) tells us they are predicting that 1.9 million people will get infected. That's only 1.4 million to go. We are 25% there.

So if our goal of "flattening the curve" is working and maintained, and at our current rates, we can probably expect similar and consistent numbers until those projections are reached in approximately 1-2 months...give or take a couple weeks?Flumper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 3:36 pm IF current predictions are 66,000 deaths in the US, and.....

if things stayed exactly as they are now (33,000 new cases per day) i think its around 42 days. No model that I have shows that is going to happen.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:20 pmSo if our goal of "flattening the curve" is working and maintained, and at our current rates, we can probably expect similar and consistent numbers until those projections are reached in approximately 1-2 months...give or take a couple weeks?Flumper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 3:36 pm IF current predictions are 66,000 deaths in the US, and.....
