How is everyone?

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.

Kids are a fact of life, and a necessity.
Don’t waste your time. Congrats on the kids making it to grown up though, it’s not easy on a parent.

Thank you. It was kind of easy, because we were both there for them, and I enjoyed it so much. But I take your point. Each kid is different; we broke the difficult one early and often. He's an aerospace engineer now.

Involved parents make all the difference.

I think Deathproof’s dad didn’t give him enough attention.

Seems a lot of people who don't like or want kids had a bad childhood. I know a few. Father abandoned family, maybe some drug abuse, had to take care of younger sibs...

They are unfortunately a fact of life, but they are DEFINITELY not a necessity.

My childhood was perfectly fine. Nobody abandoned me, parents are still happily married and living in Miami and Blue Island. Neither was ever into drugs, and only my dad ever drank on a remotely regular basis.

I hate children because they're loud, inconsiderate, always wanting things and needing things and crying and carrying on. They're gross, they're whiny, and everything the come into contact with becomes sticky. And they wind up always being someone's excuse for inconveniencing other people. "Don't curse! Little Bratleigh might hear it!" "Turn the music down, little Shitheada is trying to nap!" "Put the porn away, my baby might see it!" People act like the world revolves around the needs of children, and it's fucking ridiculous. They contribute NOTHING to the economy or to society and are a complete drain on resources, time, and peoples' patience.

The baby food market alone is expected to be a $72.7 billion industry in 2020.

Childhood is a temporary affliction. What you are describing seems like a parody. I can't recall a time my kids were ever inflicted on someone in the ways you describe. They are grown now, and I can assure you the oldest are already more than earning their keep vis-a-vis society.

After a certain point you quit spending time in the baby aisle. It's weird to go through there, now. Like driving through your old neighborhood.

Well, that depends on if you think we should all just stop having kids and die off. Gonna be awfully hard on the ones at the tail end.

Sucks for them, but I'm willing to sacrifice their future for less annoyance now.

Well yeah, now that they're adults. But children are 100% a drain and 0% contributors.
And no, what I described is reality. Are you implying children aren't loud? Don't whine and scream and cry and shriek? That they're not whiny and sticky? That actual real people aren't constantly being expected to alter our behavior to make sure we don't upset the delicate sensibilities of the little idiots?

Where are you finding these kids? I will admit, I have known some irritating kids in my life, but mostly no. One little girl who lived in our neighborhood used to scream in the streets. Just scream, for no reason. That was annoying. And she called me by my first name, which is something I really hate in children, or service staff (I'm not rude to them, either).
Mostly sticky, dirty, noisy, or ill-behaved is a short time frame, and parents are to blame.

Oh, I agree that the parents are to blame. But the placement of blame doesn't alleviate the murderous rage I feel in the presence of children. I still would prefer to see them kicked down a flight of stairs or fed into a wood chipper than listen to them scream and cry and demand the world revolve around their pointless concerns.
