In the very least, it's not straight forward

I ALMOST put that on last night. Now I will.
It's not bad, the end kinda just goes off the rails. Also not a fan of looking at Jesse Eisenberg's face

When I went with some friends to watch The Exorcist 1st run, most of the people got up and left. Sounds pretty Mindfucky to me.

I can certainly see how Eyes Wide Shut and The Shining would fall into that category. I don't think i ever saw any other movie on that list.

"The Birds" was kind of a mindfuck to me. What got into those damn birds to do all that shit?

The Birds is still on my watch list

Birdman is worth at least one watch. Interesting from start to finish, the single-take style of editing was well executed

Deep Rising is one my favorite childhood action horror movies. Of all that shit that got green lit in the 90s, it's a tragedy there was never a sequel

Great film, Treat Williams doing his best Han Solo impression. It’s legit dumb as fuck but great fun. Skull Island sort of, kinda works as a spiritual sequel.

Just finished it. It was good campy fun. If you don't take it seriously and see it for what it is, it's a fun watch.

There was no plot to EWS or any reason to look for one. The only thing to view was a young-ish hot Nicole Kidman wiping her kootch after taking a long pee kind of naked, then changing over to watch something else. I'm a huge Kubrick fan with so many of his films, but this is not one of them.

Big Kubrick fan, but reading the original book before viewing the film ruins both. I'd even suggest it goes both ways. The Shining is one of King's very best books, certainly one of his best detailed and presented writings. There are some places in the book that King masterfully paints a picture that just from the words will scare the shit out of you. Kubrick made a film of it that gutted that. It was a well directed but horribly produced film, lots of great special effects that went nowhere. On one level it is a great film, yet on another, a terrible pile of crap. I can understand why King was so disappointed in the film. Kubrick's best films were the ones he made in the 60's, before his ego took over his production values.

Yes, he's meticulous in his filming process, but it's that supposed to mean entertaining? 2001 Space Odyssey was a snoozefest
