actually, they pretty much are. The vast majority of the problems in texas were people that had to endure rolling blackouts for a few days. There were not many residences that were completely out of power.

Just admit you didn't know, Holmes.
And cali's power grid is still having issues-under normal circumstances. Texas in essence suffered a natural disaster.

Yes there were, and damage caused came to just a shade under 200 billion dollars. Comparing an entirely predictable natural disaster to a rolling brown out is just a little silly.

mostly businesses, which were closed anyway due to the weather. My company was without power but, other than me, no one was making that drive into work.

And 12 million with disrupted water supply, and thousands of broken pipes and flooded homes. Nice power grid stupid.

There was a blizzard a decade ago, ERCOT knew the grid was shit and they did nothing. Texas is full of dumb cowboys.

You're right it is silly. A state that can't keep their power consistent during normal times shouldn't really be compared with a state that suffered record cold temperatures that their equipment isn't designed for but quickly got things back to normal.

i just googled the power grid failure in Texas in 2011. It said that it was all on one day and it caused "rolling blackouts". Some homes lost power for 20 minutes. And the worst lost power for 8 hours.

Are dumb cowboys the cause of California's consistent power problems?

Did you just ball wash the state of Texas?
Their equipment was absolutely designed to handle the cold Texas just chose not to pay for the option. And when power was out for several days in many areas I would hardly call that quick.

I guess you aren't in Pittsburgh  Just in time for the summer vacation.

PITTSBURGH April 9, 2021 – Following the triumphant return of students for in-person learning,
Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Anthony Hamlet, District leaders and ABC Transit gave
an update on the success in serving the District’s youngest students at a media briefing held this
afternoon. District officials additionally foreshadowed transportation challenges precipitated by a
school bus driver shortage enlarged by COVID-19, sharing action steps to lessen the impact of
transportation availability and how families can help ensure all students return by May 3.
“Our staff and students are so excited to be back in school learning. Teachers are happy to see
students and students are seeing some of their peers for the first time, said Superintendent
Anthony Hamlet. “While everyone is excited to return, we experienced the traditional back to
school challenges. One of major concern is an expanding bus driver shortage that is posing
challenges as we prepare to welcome students back May 3.”

My region of South Texas was out for days, not hours.
