I'll give her this though: she is good at her job. She consistently gives "answers" that repeat talking points or deflects and if shes not doing that she will find a way to blame Trump. It is also painfully obvious that this administration, her in particular, are making (has made) a conscious effort to use the words "clear", "very clear" and "consistent". Every question she answers about Bidens thoughts on something she will preface with "The president has been very clear" even when he most assuredly has been wishy-washy at best. Its obviously part of the image theyre trying to craft. I dislike her but I cannot deny that she is good at her #1 priority which is to always put her boss in the best light.

Yea, in some ways, and in other ways no. Being a Jew is a bit of a dichotomy. There is the blood origin bit, and there is the worshiping bit. Many Jews have become pretty much non-believers, many openly atheists, or have converted to other religions. Many of them can also discount the founding of Israel and believe is was a tragic mistake. But as a descendant of hundreds of generations of Jewish heritage, it's not something you can set aside easily. It still defines you as a distinct member of a fairly exclusive club (barring converts to it), whether or not you give much credence to all the Yahweh and kosher and yarmulke stuff.

My mother's mother was a cultural Jew, and according to Rabbinic law, that makes me and my sister Jews, even though we were brought up Catholic. Her first husband was a Conservative Jew, yet his mother did not regard my sister as "Jewish" enough to be a proper Jewish wife for him, and it wound up breaking up their marriage. They still remain friends, though. Yet, she and I are just Jewish enough that both us of would have been swept up in Hitler's racial purity laws, that despite our general Aryan good looks from our father. Many Jewish people who converted to other religions still were put into work and death camps. Being a fervent Catholic nun didn't help Sister Teresa any.

Even though I dislike it I can appreciate what she does. She's good. She rarely has to face hostile and/or bloviating questions though so my appreciation is somewhat mitigated. It's not as easy keeping on point in the face of hostility. I think people underestimate how difficult that job is. Trumps people didn't always fair as well under far more difficult conditions; though the blond girl and the girl before her were solid. I used to have to do a TON of public speaking, Q and A sessions and training and while it gets easier the more you do it, it's still a mentally taxing endeavor.

wow. days old and its still in the news. i have heard it at least a half dozen times today on the radio in my pickup. its mind blowing how the news media can get hung up on such minutia. they had an interview with Mitch McConnell during lunch about it. One of our senators is talking to a national news person about a comment like that. our media is like a junior high girl's slumber party.
