Ive also heard some rumblings that since Hollywood is loath to make a black person the bad guy, or girl, that black actors are grumbling that they are missing out on some of the juiciest and most challenging roles.

I've found it hilarious for years watching Hollywood put out something because they think they are "revolutionizing" the entertainment industry when really they are putting out something the vast majority of people don't give a crap about. Not what the consumer wants, what we give you. Real sound business decisions (also corps) being made by some stupid boards.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:08 amHere is one article about it:CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 11:20 pmInteresting commentCHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:41 pmDamn. The top 10 grossing movies so far in 2023 (and it's only June) have raked in $2,403,586,805 dollars.
That's $2.4 BILLION dollars! And that's just domestic box office!
If you look at worldwide box office it's close to $6 BILLION bucks!
Hollywood is doing just fine.
There's a pretty big difference between streaming and box office, dude.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 4:09 pmIt’s not just Disney: Hollywood slashes jobs as streaming bubble popsReservoir Dog wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 2:27 pmIt sure is!CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:27 pm Yeah, Hollywood is just thriving. Riiiight. Speaking of business 101, you do understand the difference between revenue (your box office) and profit, right? I bet all of those people getting laid off in Hollywood are now acutely aware of the difference.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:45 pmBecause the streaming department is separate from other departments in the company.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:14 pmYes, but it all goes on to the same balance sheet at the end of the day.
