Love the sketch and mechanical drawings of a helicopter. Only 400 years ahead of his timeAnimal wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 9:52 pm when I was a kid, someone gave me a coffee table book of Leonardo Da Vinci. It was all kinds of sketches, sculptures, drawings, hypothesis, etc from all through his life. I could spend hours going through that book. He literally had thoughts on almost anything you could think of.
his drawings of the internal organs, bones, muscles, blood vessels, etc of the human body were amazing. its not enough the detail and insight into something that no one knew anything about, but his ability to draw was on another level.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 10:12 pmLove the sketch and mechanical drawings of a helicopter. His biggest knock was he had ideas all over the place but seemed uninterested in following almost all of them to completion. Was given a commission by some rich Italian noble for some huge sculpture (can't remember what it was) and it took him almost 20 years to complete and was bored way before he finished. But, has to be considered one of the greatest geniuses in human history. BTW, Bill Gates bought that DaVinci human anatomy sketches.
are you sure you aren't confusing Michaelangelo? I think he was commissioned by a Pope (that he hated) to do the Sistine Chapel roof and he hated it and took forever working on it.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 10:35 pmHis biggest knock was he had ideas all over the place but seemed uninterested in following almost all of them to completion. 4D Chess.
No, he's right. The Duke of Milan commissioned a large equine statue from Da VinciAnimal wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 12:18 amare you sure you aren't confusing Michaelangelo? That's because he cut up dead bodies and drew the parts.Animal wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 10:16 pmhis drawings of the internal organs, bones, muscles, blood vessels, etc of the human body were amazing. its not enough the detail and insight into something that no one knew anything about, but his ability to draw was on another level.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 10:12 pmLove the sketch and mechanical drawings of a helicopter. Nah, it was DaVinci. It was like a 10-15 foot sculpture of a horse. Don't remember all the detailsAnimal wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 12:18 amare you sure you aren't confusing Michaelangelo? Probably.
I don't know why, and it's probably a going to hell for happy hour moment, but the first thing that popped into mind was the line from "The Lemon Song": "Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my leg".
My friend Rich (we all called him wolfman) was in a band with fat larry and wolfman was on drums singing some of the songs and he kept singing the "squeeze my.....down my leg" over and over. He was a riot.At another party they played at Larry dropped 2 hits of acid in wolfmans beer. Wolfman was in a truck he usually didn't drive and it had an automatic and the truck he usually drove had a 4 speed. When he tried to leave the party he came back in about an hour later and we all asked him "I thought you were leaving" and he said he couldn't because his clutch pedal was gone. When he turned 40 we had a celebration at the local watering hole and a mess of us went out in the parking lot to "burn one" It was dark out so we're all standing around passing the dutchie, except for wolfie. He was walking around and as a car would drive in and he'd be in the headlights he'd yell "all you can eat under a buck"We all finally figured out,He had a dollar bill tucked in to his pants and had his dick hanging out the zipper. We were laughing our ass off.Zerobeat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 1:24 pmI don't know why, and it's probably a going to hell for happy hour moment, but the first thing that popped into mind was the line from "The Lemon Song": "Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my leg".![]()
